The easiest way of getting to Stari Grad is taking a ferry (passengers + cars) from Split. Besides, it is also possible to travel by a car ferry from Drvenik to Sucuraj and drive through the island, or arrive with a passenger ferry in Hvar or Jelsa.

If you are traveling by car, you should arrive in the port of Split at least 2 hours before the ferry departure – in the high season (July-August) ferries tend to be occupied and the ticket does not guarantee the place in the garage.

The Port of Split can be easily reached by car: it is around 400 km from Zagreb, 760 from Vienna, 880 from Munich and 1080 from Prague. If you are not a big fan of traveling by car, you can always pick from the variety of different opportunities. There are trains and buses coming to Split from all over Europe. The international bus and train stations are located exactly next to the ferry area.
There is also an international airport in Split. Getting from the airport to the harbor is easy. There is a direct bus going in the high season every half an hour exactly from the terminal to the international bus station. The journey lasts for about 35 minutes and the tickets are sold on board in the price of 30 HRK or 5 EUR.
